John Bell

My name is John Bell and I am The Lomond Angler. At present I provide guided fishing trips on Loch Lomond.  I am also undertaking the Scottish Game Angling Instructors Course (S.G.A.I.C) to become a fly fishing instructor.  I work closely with the Riverfly Partnership Initiative and SEPA collecting river samples, monitoring and collecting data on entomology.

I first fished Loch Lomond with an old friend of mine 'Old Bob'. He first took me to the Big Loch in 1994, how do I remember that because we spent most of the time in the pub watching the World Cup and not a lot of time fishing!

How things have changed when we get older, after that year I always said to myself one day I would have my own boat on Loch Lomond. I would rather fish any day of the week on the boat and pass my knowledge on to help/teach people to enjoy what I have been enjoying for a long time, this place really does get under your skin.
